Altar crosses
The throne cross is a special cross that is placed under the throne in the church. It is a symbol of the sacrificial nature of Christianity and the eternal connection with the rite of the Eucharist. Usually made of wood or metal, the altar cross can come in many shapes and designs, but its primary function is to remind us of Christ's sacrifice on the cross and its eternal significance for the faithful.
The Holy Cross is used in the rituals of the Eucharist, when the bread and wine become the Body and Blood of Christ.
