The cross has a traditional eight-pointed Orthodox shape, inscribed in luxurious
figured rounded ends of the crossbars (shamrocks). In the center, the
crucifixion of our Lord Jesus Christ is depicted in detail with a realistic
depiction of anatomy and folds of fabric. The upper medallion contains the
image of the Lord of Hosts (Heavenly Father) and the Holy Spirit in the form of
a dove. Traditional Orthodox titles and monograms are carved on both sides of
the Crucifixion.
