The Holy Martyr Zinaida
is an early Christian saint, a physician and relative of the Apostle Paul. She
is traditionally depicted in modest monastic attire with a green mantle. In her
hands, the saint holds a small box (ark) with healing potions and a medical
instrument, symbolizing her gratuitous gift of miraculous healing of mental and
physical ailments. Saint Zinaida is addressed with prayers for healing from
illnesses, protection of the family, strengthening of faith, and help in life's
difficulties.
